There’s snow place like an ice rink. This season, grab your loved ones and head to Boston’s best outdoor rinks for a hot cup of cocoa and a chance to glide all day. Whether you’re dropping in for a hockey game or sharpening your figure skating skills, these rinks have something for everyone. 


1) Ice Skating on the Frog Pond

Cost: $10 admission for adults; $15 for skate rental 

Where: Downtown

What: Enjoy the most wonderful time of the year at Boston’s most magical rink. Skating on the Frog Pond is a holiday tradition, so lace up those skates and hit the ice. 2) The Rink at 401 Park

Cost: $12 admission for adults; $7 for skate rental

Where: Fenway

What: The Rink 401 Park boasts a 6,000 sq. ft. ice rink, making it the ultimate destination for fun skating and winter activities with live music, themed nights, food & drinks, and more. Don't miss the Studio 401 Rink Opening Party on Sunday, November 19.


3) Skate @ Canal District Kendall

Cost: $6 admission for adults; $10 skate rental

Where: Cambridge

Where: Stoneham | 10.4 miles from Downtown Boston

What: Embrace the Stoneham skating legacy with free public skating on Stoneham Town Common. This town has proudly contributed athletes to five Winter Olympics, including the renowned medalist Nancy Kerrigan.


7) The Rink at MarketStreet


When: Open Mon, 11/14

Cost: $12 admission, $5 skate rental

Where: Lynnfield | 15.3 miles from Downtown Boston

8) The Oval Ice Skating Rink

Where: Worcester | 43.5 miles from Downtown Boston

When: Taking a trip to Worcester is worth it for a chance to skate on the famous Oval. This 12,000 square-foot ice skating rink is even 4,000 feet bigger than New York’s Rockefeller Center Rink.


9) The Providence Outdoor Ice Skating Rink
