The holidays are here and shopping for loved ones is high on everyone’s to-do list. This year, shop small businesses to find unique gifts and support the local economy. At these pop-up holiday markets you can find a huge selection of goods all in one place, plus plenty of extra amusements. Grab a hot chocolate and let the window shopping begin!

1) The Holiday Market at Snowport


When: Open daily, November 10-Sunday December 31

Where: Seaport

Info: One of the most exciting parts of Snowport, Seaport’s annual winter wonderland, is the extensive market of local businesses that you can shop the whole month of December. There are more than 120 shops represented so you can find goodies for even the pickiest relatives.


2) European Holiday Market at Trinktisch


When: Saturday, November 18

Where: Belmont

Info: Head to Trinktisch Beer Hall to sip on a brew and get started on your holiday shopping. Boston Women’s Market will be popping up with lots of local vendors to shop and families can enjoy DIY ornament painting and other kid-friendly activities as well.


3) SoWa Winter Festival


When: Open Thursday-Sunday, November 24-December 17

Where: South End

Info: More than 100 local makers will be selling beautiful, unique goods at the SoWa Winter Festival, an all-out experience in the SoWa Power Station. While you browse, sip winter cocktails, cozy around a firepit, and explore the best of the SoWa neighborhood.


4) Holiday CrEATor Market


When: Open Friday-Sunday, November 24-December 24

Where: North End

Info: Browse knit items from local alpaca wool, handmade jewelry, pottery, artisanal soaps, plant-based meal kits, and more at the Boston Public Market's Holiday CrEATor Market. While you’re shopping, snack on local eats from the stalls around the market.


5) Buy Black. Buy Local. Holiday Marketplace


When: Saturdays starting November 25

Where: Roxbury

Info: Every Saturday, Underground Cafe + Lounge will host a marketplace of Black-owned and local businesses for holiday shopping. While you’re at it enjoy DIY gift wrapping, ornament making, and card decorating. 


6) Small Business Saturday Weekend Holiday Market


When: Saturday, November 25 & Sunday, November 26

Where: Somerville

Info: Jam out to live music and shop a market of local businesses with handmade jewelry, kids gifts, candles, artwork, pottery, and more. Close out the shopping spree at the gift wrapping station and all your holiday shopping is done in a day. On Sunday you can fuel your shopping spree with on-site brunch.


7) Holiday Makers Market


When: Saturday, November 25 & Sunday, November 26

Where: Watertown

Info: Shop a wide range of handmade and locally sourced gifts from jewelry and cards to ornaments, pottery, and handknits. Lawson's Finest Liquids and MBar will host pop-up holiday bars during the festivities. 


8) Artists For Humanity Holiday Market


When: Tuesday, November 28

Where: Southie

Info: Celebrate Giving Tuesday at Artists For Humanity EpiCenter's annual 'Holiday Market' Open Studio, featuring an array of unique gifts and the chance to explore creative studios, meet teen artists, and learn about our mission.


9) Downtown Boston Holiday Market


When: Fridays and Saturdays, November 24-December 23

Where: Downtown Crossing

Info: Shop for unique handcrafted holiday gifts in the heart of Downtown Crossing at the curated market on Summer Street, featuring a rotating lineup of artisan vendors.


10) Boston Women’s Holiday Market at Faneuil Hall


When: Friday, December 1-Saturday, December 23

Where: Downtown

Info: For the whole month of December, you can shop two floors of local makers, artists, and business owners at Faneuil Hall. Peruse more than 40 vendors, enjoy live music by local musicians, and get your face painted. 


11) Marché de Noël / Christmas Market


When: Saturday, December 2

Where: Back Bay

Info: Head to France for the afternoon by visiting the French Library’s Beaux Arts-style mansion, sipping complimentary mulled wine, and browsing the selection of French-inspired housewares, treats, books, and more.


12) Small Mart Holiday Market at Crystal Ballroom


When: Saturday, December 2

Where: Davis Square 

Info: Shop a curated market of more than 40 local vendors selling one-of-a-kind art pieces, vintage, and other small business goods. Grab a themed holiday cocktail from the bar and jam out to a festive playlist while you shop.


13) Holiday Pop-up Bookshop at Boston Athenaeum


When: Saturday, December 2

Where: Beacon Hill

Info: Shop a holiday pop-up bookshop hand-curated by the Boston Athenaeum librarians. They’ll walk you through the season’s most exciting reads while you enjoy festive refreshments. 


14) Holiday Market at The LOT


When: Saturday, December 2 & Sunday, December 3

Where: South Boston

Info: Grab a warm beverage and snap a photo with Santa, then start checking items off your holiday shopping list at The LOT’s marketplace of small businesses. You’ll find jewelry, clothing, Boston-themed souvenirs and more. 


15) Boston Women's Market at Night Shift Brewing


When: Sunday, December 3

Where: Everett

Info: Grab a beer and browse the marketplace set up by Boston Women’s Market for unique and special holiday gifts. Fuel up for a day of shopping with a pop-up from Daddy’s Bonetown Burger. 


16) Winter Market at Sam Adams Brewery


When: Sunday, December 3

Where: Jamaica Plain

Info: Watch Sam Adams Brewery transform into a winter wonderland for this festive market, featuring handmade goods and seasonal treats. For extra $10 fees you can participate in an ornament decorating class and sample a festive flight. 


17) The Holiday Market at District Hall


When: Saturday, December 9

Where: Seaport

Info: Shop jewelry, home decor, clothing, and more at this market of vendors showcasing handcrafted holiday goods. Enjoy tasty treats to fuel your shopping. Later that night District Hall will continue the celebration with a Holiday Cocktail Party.


18) Krampusnacht: An Alternative Holiday Market


When: Saturday, December 9

Where: Everett

Info: Head to Bone Up Brewing to celebrate the holidays with a marketplace of alternative goods. Here you’ll find Gate & Garden Herbal Apothecary, spooky ceramics by Clay Creep, Spicy Boy Jerky, and horror/comic-inspired art by Theater of Creeps.


19) Christkindlmarkt German Holiday Market


When: Saturday, December 9

Where: Allston

Info: Enjoy caroling and other festive entertainment at this German Holiday Market, plus a book fair, a petting zoo for children, traditional German food and glasses of Glühwein (mulled wine). And, of course, get a head start on your shopping at the marketplace.


20) Harpoon Holiday Market


When: Saturday, December 9

Where: Seaport

Info: Get your holiday shopping done at a marketplace of more than 15 female-owned, local businesses. Then get into the holiday spirit with the annual Harpoon Tree Keg lighting.


21) Canal District Winter Market


When: Saturday, December 9 & Sunday, December 10

Where: Kendall Square

Info: Kendall Square’s Canal District blooms into a lively holiday party with a huge market of local business vendors, live music, craft workshops, and hot chocolate and treats served by Plant Pub. Top off the day by skating on the Kendall Square ice rink.

Where: Dorchester

Info: Head to the Boston Harbor Distillery for a cozy shopping experience featuring 15 local vendors. While you shop, sip on a themed holiday cocktail made with the distillery’s spirits.


23) Gifted Holiday Market at the Fairmont Copley Plaza


When: Sunday, December 10

Where: Back Bay

Info: At this juried holiday market, the Fairmont Copley Plaza has chosen the best of the best independent artists, designers, artisans, and culinary makers to display their handcrafted wares. 


24) Harvard Square Holiday Fair


When: Friday, December 15-Sunday, December 23

Where: Harvard Square

Info: One of the oldest holiday fairs in Boston, celebrating 37 years, the Harvard Square Holiday Fair offers goods by regional craftspeople and global importers. Meeting the craftspeople who have made each item brings a special connection to your holiday gifts.


25) Small Mart Holiday Market at Deep Cuts


When: Saturday, December 16

Where: Medford

Info: While the bar cranks out holiday-themed cocktails and mocktails, and a festive playlist wafts through the space, you can shop more than 20 small business vendors selling everything from vintage to original art.


26) Time Out Holiday Market


When: Saturday, December 16 

Where: Fenway

Info: The Boston Women’s Market will be popping up at Time Out for an opportunity to shop local, female-owned and led businesses. While you’re there, try a holiday cocktail and eat your way around the marketplace trying everything from ramen to burgers.


27) Boston Women’s Holiday Market at The Speedway


When: Sunday, December 17 

Where: Brighton

Info: Shop more than 30 woman-owned local businesses at this last-minute holiday market. Cross another thing off your list at the on-site gift-wrapping station and get creative with a DIY ornament station.

28) Wellesley Marketplace


When: Saturday, November 18

Where: Wellesley

Info: 200 local artisans, boutique owners, and craftspeople from New England converge for this massive holiday marketplace. Shop gourmet foods, fine jewelry, clothing ornaments, children’s toys, and much more.


29) Andover Holiday Market


When: Saturday, December 2

Where: Andover

Info: This European-style indoor and outdoor market features more than 25 local artists and food vendors as well as live music and activities for kids. Shop till you stop and then enjoy the beer and wine garden featuring Oak and Iron Brewery and Marble Ridge Winery.


30) Pop-Up Holiday Market at Powisset Farm Store


When: Saturdays December 2-16

Where: Dover

Info: Shop the Powisset Farm Store collection of local and artisanal goods and check out work by local makers popping up at the store through December. While you’re on the farm, explore the beautiful, historic property and snuggle up by the firepits.
