Free Water Taxis & Ferries Around Boston Harbor: Summer 2023

Navigating Boston Harbor by boat doesn't have to cost a dime. Explore the city's waterscape with these three free boat services, offering both practical commutes and scenic views across the Harbor. Learn the routes, schedules, and details of each service below:

1) East Boston Ferry

With the full closure of the Sumner Tunnel (Wed Jul 5 – Thu Aug 31), the MBTA has made the East Boston Ferry service from Long Wharf (Marriott Waterfront) to Lewis Mall Wharf (Tall Ship East Boston) FREE.

2) Boston Launch Company Boat Shuttle Service

Boston Launch Company began its free boat shuttle service in the summer of 2017. The water taxi connects four restaurants: Reel House Seaport, The Tall Ship, Reel House East Boston, and Pier 6 Charlestown.

Hours of Operation (weather pending): Monday - Sunday: 11am - 11pm

• Lewis Wharf | 1 East Pier Drive, East Boston

3) Encore Boston Harbor Free Water Shuttle

Luxury motor yachts depart day and night from Long Wharf North & Lovejoy Wharf to Encore Boston Harbor

• Long Wharf North - Encore: May 1 through September 30, 2023
• Lovejoy Wharf - Encore: May 5 through September 30, 2023
