A collaboration between the New England Poetry Club, the Longfellow House National Historical Site, and the Friends of the Longfellow House featuring some of the most acclaimed voices in American poetry.


Summer, 2026


July 12th – Tracy K. Smith

July 26th – Lloyd Schwartz and Regie Gibson

August 2nd – Major Jackson and Kirun Kapur

August 9th – Marie Howe, and the presentation of the Golden Rose Award


The readings will be presented, free and open to the public, on the lawn at the Longfellow House on four summer Sundays each year. Brief musical performances will begin at 2:45 p.m., and poetry introductions will begin promptly at 3 p.m.


Videos of the 2025 WE (too) readings are available on YouTube, courtesy of the Somerville Media Center. Recordings of the 2026 readings will be made available 48 hours after each event.
