Jazz saxophonist Walter Smith III is widely recognized as an adept performer, “boundary pushing” composer, and inspired educator. He has shared the stage with Roy Haynes, Terence Blanchard, Christian McBride, Joe Lovano, Herbie Hancock, Maria Schneider, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and a host of others, appearing on over 100 recordings released worldwide. Newly signed to Blue Note Records, Smith released his latest album, “return to casual,” on April 7. Smith is joined by guitarist Matt Stevens, bassist Linda May Han Oh, and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington.
