It's been said that the Irish are dead serious about one thing and one thing only: jokes. So expect some seriously funny shenanigans from The Irish Comedy Tour. The lineup of clover -- make that clever -- comedians includes Detroit native Derek Richards and Boston-born Mike McCarthy, as well as music from Canadian fiddle player Damon Leibert and Dublin's own Derrick Keane. From his appearances on The Bob & Tom Show to The Weather Channel, Richards has been known to leave audiences howling over his tales about his mom's dog or dating a stripper. And McCarthy's no-holds-barred rants has landed him on Comedy Central and Showtime. Meanwhile, Leibert and Keane bring a spot of authentic Irish music to the show with their fiddling and singing. These hilarious Irish-American comedians tear apart and, occasionally, validate all of those Irish myths and stereotypes when they hit the stage in Somerville. This is a rare chance to see The Irish Comedy Tour at The Rockwell (formerly the Davis Square Theatre), which features a full bar, and is the perfect setting to experience these hooligans up close.
