Join the Harvard Glee Club, Radcliffe Choral Society, and Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum for a performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, conducted by Hana J. Cai.
One of the most recognizable choral-orchestral works of the twentieth century, Carmina Burana (1936) sets texts from a medieval collection of 254 poems and dramatic texts from the 11th, 12th centuries, and 13th centuries. Written in Latin, Middle High German, and old Arpitan, the texts explore themes of fate and fortune, the changing seasons, drinking songs, and love.
The performance will take place on Saturday, May 3 at 2:00 PM in Sanders Theatre, bringing together the three choruses for a presentation of this landmark work in the choral repertoire. We hope to see you there.
