On Thursday, September 18th, 2014 The Beehive, located in Boston’s South End, presents a tribute to The Beatles with an evening of live performance featuring cutting edge re-interpretations and remixes of Beatles tunes that come from the imagination of some great musicians whose own music has been influenced by the group. Husband and wife team Aaron and Amy Bellamy will bring together hot jazz and funk musicians from the Boston area including guitarist Steve Fell, drummer Pete Mclean, saxophonist Paul Lieberman, and Melissa Bolling and Jen Kearney on vocals.
A group that needs no introduction, The Beatles have revolutionized the world of music. To honor the iconic musicians, a rotating group of heavy hitters, led by The Funky ABs will take The Beehive’s stage from 9:30PM-1:00AM to fill the room with adaptations of Beatles classics. While enjoying the music that evening, guests are welcome to enjoy a full dinner with selections from Executive Chef Marc Orfaly such as the fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs ($14), grilled calamari with cherokee red leaf, chickpeas, lemon vinaigrette and garlic peppers ($12), and duck au poivre with schmaltz fried rice, mustard pickles and sauce diane ($27). Wine enthusiasts will appreciate Beehive’s extensive wine list featuring over 40 wines and acclaimed reserve list. Signature concoctions to imbibe include the Queen Bee made with Tito’s vodka, fresh grapefruit juice, elderflower liqueur, and champagne ($12.50), and the St. Lucy made with white Armagnac, Cocchi Americano, rhubarb tea liqueur, and bitters ($13.50).
