On Sunday, May 14, Bar Boulud invites families of all sizes to spoil mom with a festive three-course Mother’s Day brunch created by Chef de Cuisine Michael Denk and Pastry Chef Robert Differ.
While celebrating the family’s leading lady, guests are invited to select from an array of seasonal appetizers such as: Waldorf Salad, featuring crisp Bibb lettuce tossed with grapes, blue cheese and walnuts, and finished with a crisp bacon tuile; Salmon Tartare, served with fresh dill, fava beans, rye and crème fraîche, topped with a confit egg yolk; or decadent Pain Perdu, comprised of brioche French toast, caramelized bananas and malted milk Chantilly. Additionally, a variety of savory mouthwatering entrées include: Lobster Scramble, a celebration-worthy plate consisting of tender Maine lobster, French-style scrambled eggs, tarragon, coral butter and buttery brioche; Pan-Seared Halibut, supported by roasted carrots, fava beans, Parisienne gnocchi, and a rich carrot broth; and Yogurt-Marinated Leg of Lamb, paired with pearl couscous, bell peppers, house-made pita and a natural jus.
Ending brunch on a sweet note, Chef Differ will serve a trio of tempting treats, including: Vanilla Bean Cheesecake, a refreshing take on a classic served with a lime-graham crust, fresh strawberries, and Grand Marnier Chantilly; Trois Level Chocolat, boasting layered dark, milk and dulce chocolate mousse, accompanied by a homemade chocolate biscuit and creamy praline gelato; and a Citron Sundae, handcrafted with Meyer lemon sorbet, crisp ginger croquant, a sweet raspberry compote and fluffy meringue.
