QUINCY, MASS. – You and your family can help deliver holiday cheer to local veterans living in Quincy nursing homes during the family-friendly Christmas party at Victory Point restaurant (332 Victory Road) on the Marina Bay waterfront Saturday afternoon.

The holiday celebration is a joint effort between Victory Point, the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse, Ginger Betty’s Bakery and local families to deliver cookies and thank you letters to the heroes who served our country.

The party on Saturday, Dec. 14 (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) will feature a visit by and photo opportunities with Boston Cannons dancers and players, plus a visit by Santa Claus himself, and a chance to decorate your very own gingerbread person and write thank you notes to local veterans.

Here’s how it works:

Guests can purchase Ginger Betty cookie kits for $10 each. Kids (and/or mom and dad, too!) get a gingerbread man with frosting and candy to decorate it + hot chocolate and letterhead on which to write a thank you note to local veterans.

Guests get to keep their very own hand-decorated gingerbread person to enjoy over the holidays! Their thank you notes will be delivered to veterans at local nursing homes, along with packages of Ginger Betty gingersnap cookies.

The letters and cookies are being delivered by Quincy’s Sons of the American Legion the following day (Sunday, Dec. 15).

“We’re all indebted to our veterans and their sacrifices are something we’re reminded of especially here during the holiday season,” said Victory Point owner Donato Frattaroli. “Our goal with our friends from the Boston Cannons and Ginger Betty’s Bakery is to deliver cookies and thank you notes to every veteran currently living in one of our nursing homes.”

The Sons of the American Legion plan to deliver cookies and thank you notes to 50+ veterans in Quincy nursing homes.

Victory Point is also offering a special holiday menu during the party from award-winning executive chef Pino Maffeo along with seasonal beverages for mom and dad, too.
