Join local photographer Eduardo del Solar in an exploration of the macro world that populates our new England summers. This is a hands-on workshop series geared to learning about macro, or close up, photography of static and moving objects such as dragonflies, butterflies and flowers. Topics covered will include: setting up your camera for static and moving objects, equipment review of lenses, close-up tubes, as well as composition in macrophotography.

The workshop will include one two-hour in the field meet-up at the Boston Nature Center and two, two-hour online sessions, weekly assignments to practice skills and strategies covered that week, and time to share three images with the group for constructive feedback and reflection. The instructor will use student work to demonstrate basic post-processing techniques, including integration of the digital flow such as processing and editing images using a raw converter such as Adobe Lightroom for publishing or printing.

In addition to 6 hours of online instruction, each student will receive one hour of individual instruction via email, phone, video chat, or in-person field instruction (adhering to current COVID safety requirements).

DSLR and Mirrorless cameras with full auto and manual functions and wide, telephoto, and close focus capabilities are ideal for this class. Appropriate for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. While all levels of skill are accepted in this class, students need to be familiar with their camera functions. Bring a tripod and your camera for this summer workshop at the Boston Nature Center.
