Greetings and happy holidays, community! We are really excited to share our first event of the year! As many of us know, seasonal depression impacts Black men during this time because it is a time of greater isolation, stress, loneliness, and loss for us.
We believe it is important to seek the wisdom of healers (e.g., medical providers, spiritual advisors, and herbalists) to treat the whole body.
For many of us, access to adequate medical care is often not an option but there are opportunities to take care of our health through the application of our herbal knowledge. That’s why we are inviting Black men of all backgrounds to join us at the Boston Liberation Center (194 Blue Hill Ave.) on January 14th as we discuss seasonal depression and consider ways we can use herbalism (an alternative medicine source) to take care of our mental health generally.
*Please be advised, we are not for or against you seeing your primary care physician for most health issues. Use all resources that you believe is most appropriate for you.
