The Griffin Museum is pleased to present the work of the 2025/2026 Cummings Residency Prize winner, Lua Kobayashi. This exhibition is an immersive experience that honors the unseen histories of Japanese American communities in the greater Boston area through video projections.
Lua Kobayashi is a mixed Japanese American and Uruguayan interdisciplinary artist based in Southern California. Working across photography, video, and installation, her practice explores memory, displacement, and cultural identity through personal and community histories. Her work creates immersive spaces that examine how stories are carried across generations, preserving overlooked histories while fostering remembrance, connection, and belonging.
