Prepare for the U.S. citizenship exam with American art in our collections!
This fall, the Harvard Art Museums will collaborate with the St. Mark Community Education Program on a free 11-week online course in which you can learn the 128 civics questions and improve your English with interactive lessons featuring American art.
St. Mark’s experienced and trained teachers will lead English and civics lessons online every week. On selected weeks, Harvard students in the museums’ Ho Family Student Guide Program will deepen and reinforce these lessons by leading interactive tours of American artworks in our collections.
You will have a choice of one of two tracks:
Tuesdays (6:30–8:30pm), September 8–November 17, 2026
Wednesdays (6:30–8:30pm), September 9– November 18, 2026
To be eligible for this course, you must have had your green card for 4 years and 9 months, or 2 years and 9 months if your spouse is a U.S. citizen, and be able to speak some English. Instruction is fully in English. Additionally, we ask that you please attend at least 80 percent of the classes. If you register and do not attend class, you are taking a seat from someone else.
Please visit St. Mark’s registration page to register by September 1.
