Join Charles River Watershed Association for its second Highland Street Foundation #FreeFunFriday on July 12th at DCR's Herter Park! Families will have access to free canoeing and kayaking lessons with Paddle Boston - Charles River Canoe & Kayak, and will even be able to try their hand at fishing! Children can enjoy storytime in the shade and free ice cream from Ben & Jerry's, and will be able to get their hands dirty with Bootstrap Compost. There will be hands-on science demonstrations led by CRWA's aquatic scientist and science team about invasive plants, pollution, and watersheds. There will also be a cultural aspect, hosted by the Friends of Herter Park, who will give acting lessons. Participants will have a few food trucks to choose from for lunch options and are welcome to pack their own snacks for a picnic by the river. There's so much to do on the beloved Charles River, and so little time in a Friday!
