Explore the Nighttime World of Caterpillars & Moths
Step into the night and discover the beauty of moths and other nocturnal insects! Join The Caterpillar Lab outdoors as UV lights reveal the dazzling diversity of life after dark, and learn simple ways to explore nighttime pollinators at home.
The Caterpillar Lab will present a photograph- and video-packed talk exploring the nighttime world of caterpillars, moths, and how to find them. Learn how to explore backyard habitats through the eyes of a moth, using UV and special light traps to uncover a whole new perspective. This lecture includes time to meet a few caterpillar specimens up close and chat with Caterpillar Lab educators. In-person attendees will also get to try blacklight flashlights!
