In recognition of Earth Day, the Blue Hill Observatory invites individuals from communities around Greater Boston to do something simple and powerful: climb together.
“Climb for a Better Tomorrow” is the Blue Hill Observatory’s annual Earth Day event that goes beyond reaching the summit of Great Blue Hill; it symbolizes the importance of preserving the environment for future generations.
Set against the natural backdrop of the Great Blue Hills with a panoramic view of Boston’s skyline, the event emphasizes the importance of sustainability
and community involvement.
Participants climb Great Blue Hill and gather at the Blue Hill Observatory, a National Historic Landmark and a weather observation station, where they give
an Earth Day testimony and log their climb by tapping an LED counter. They then enjoy live music and refreshments, meet local meteorologists, and participate in Earth Day-themed activities suitable for all ages.
