Civil rights and peace activist, Diane Nash will offer reflections on the trajectory and future of activism from her lifetime on the front lines of the nonviolent movement for civil rights and social justice.
Diane Nash continuously inspires activists by advocating a philosophy and strategy for effective nonviolent social change. Her message is as relevant and necessary today as it was when she organized lunch counter sit-ins and freedom rides for racial justice in the 1960s.
A founder of SNCC (Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee) and an associate of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Nash was arrested multiple times for her commitment to racial justice.
Her bravery and vision is chronicled in "Eyes on the Prize", "Freedom Riders", and Spike Lee's "Four Little Girls". Diane Nash was portrayed by Tessa Thompson in “Selma”.
