Please join us as we commemorate this special occasion at our Arthaus Gallery! In addition to using our exhibition space, we'll be hosting guests in the adjacent lobby which contains an elegant lounging area with café-style seating. We'll have performances by live musicians Steven Manwaring and David McKindley-Ward, wine and beer, Mediterranean hors d'oeuvres, art-making activities, a short speaking program, and online auction. We'll also have a new exhibit entitled "Then and Now: UVA's 10 Year Retrospective" that serves as a historical catalog of our work so far. Not only will this exhibit document the history of UVA and our impact on the Greater Boston community, but it also traces the growth of our members and their professional trajectories.
On June 22nd, Unbound Visual Arts (UVA) will celebrate 10 years of supporting the Greater Boston arts community! Whether it be curating solo and group exhibitions for experienced and emerging artists, organizing shows that explore the critical issues shaping our contemporary moment, or hosting casual events for nearby community members, UVA has forged meaningful connections with the surrounding Allston/Brighton neighborhood and Boston community writ large.
Over the course of a decade we have displayed over 80 exhibits, showcased the work of 200 artists, presented the visions of 20 curators, and crafted ties with over 50 small and large-scale partners and funders. So far in 2023, we've presented a full array of exciting exhibits: Fibers of Concern: The Art of Lewanda Lim, Climate Equity: A Better Future For All, curated by Jingyi Wang as well as A Woman's Work is Never Done: Women in the Arts, curated by Paige Moreau.
After ten years, our key goals continue to be to create and advocate for dedicated exhibit galleries for our growing art community and to provide selling opportunities and resources for artists.
