Mother’s Day only comes around once a year, and as a mother-daughter team we believe that is simply not enough. Let us help you show Mom how much she means to you this year. Bring her to the Mother’s Day Glass Fusing Class at The Glass Bar to bring out your creative side. Work on a project together that you will cherish forever. The project will have a little bit of your influence and a little bit of hers!
Glass fusing is becoming the fastest growing art medium of today! It’s accessible for all skill levels, east to learn, and the results are always stunning! This class is your perfect opportunity to indulge in a rare art form for a fun night of creativity!
New to glass fusing? Don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place. At The Glass Bar, we work with beginners everyday, accessing each individual’s skill level. We have developed a master plan to ensure that each individual is calm and confident before we move on. Then, we work with you to find inspiration for your project.
We want you feel the excitement of exploring a new art form. We encourage each individual to test their imagination to find a design that suits them.
During this class, you and your mom will work together to create a fused glass plate that you will cherish.
First, you will learn glass safety, so you can feel calm and confident when working with glass. Next, we will jump into designing by picking through tiny pieces of glass. You will have the opportunity and plenty of time to create a design. Aim for a scenic landscape, or a field of flowers, or a pattern of your favorite colors. Whatever speaks to your inner artist!
Once you have created a design that you love, the instructor will aid you in bringing it to life. We will move on to the final touches, finalizing your design and prepping the pieces for the kiln. You will not be present for the kiln firing process, as it takes 12+ hours, but you will gain knowledge of the process.
During this course you will receive the materials and instruction to complete a 8×8 fused glass plate. This course will take 2-3 hours. Students are welcome to leave as they finish.
Course fee is $75 for TWO participants to work together one ONE plate. Online registration required.
Please wear close toed shoes.
Projects must fire in the kiln over night and may take up to a month for completion. We are not responsible for projects after 30 days. We are not responsible for projects that break in the kiln.
