A flexible spine keeps you feeling young and healthy! Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement uses the body-mind connection to improve and fine tune how you move and feel. These workshops consist of small, gentle movements that will teach you how to release unnecessary muscular habits that can lead to back pain and stiffness. The results include better posture and more freedom and ease in all movement.
This is a three-class series focused on the spine, but the effects of each class will be global and help you find new possibilities of movement for the whole body. While the benefits of the classes are cumulative, individual class drop ins are welcome.
Week 1. Your spine as a chain--discover each of the 24 articulating vertebrae and how easily you can bend, twist and extend when your spine becomes a bigger part of your self-image.
Week 2. By finding more flexibility in the thoracic spine, your posture will improve effortlessly. Your ribs become freer, as does your breath.
Week 3. Explore the relationship of the hips, pelvis and lumbar spine in order to move more easily.
