Boston is all set to welcome its first Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in the Seaport, opening its doors on November 17. This new addition to the city's entertainment landscape replaces the former ShowPlace ICON Theatre, which closed amid the pandemic. The cinema house, nestled amidst eateries like Grace by Nia and Flight Club, boasts a grand Iron Giant figure in its lobby, resonating with the story setting of "The Iron Giant" in nearby Maine.
Founded in Austin, Texas in 1997, the Alamo Drafthouse chain is known for its curated movie selections, created by movie aficionados for a likeminded audience. The new Seaport venue continues this tradition, with a dazzling array of vintage foreign spy movie posters gracing the lobby walls, reflecting the founder Tim League's penchant for movie posters.
LOCATION FEATURES:
- A total of 780 seats in 10 theaters. All provide dine-in service brought to seats by Alamo Drafthouse's ninja- trained wait staff.
- All seating is assigned and can be reserved in person, online or mobile app purchase. Advanced purchase is recommended for any in-demand screenings and special programming.
- Theaters offer full food and drink menus, including a kids menu with a la carte options. Menus include all courses: appetizer, entree, dessert, as well as full bar options including innovative cocktails, spirits, award- winning milkshakes and a huge local selection of draft beers.
- In addition to the core menu of Alamo favorites, thetheater features seasonal specials as well as specific specials for movie events as well as vegan options like the fan-favorite Buffalo Cauliflower, Supreme Vegan Pizza and the Beyond MeatTM Vegan Burger. Menus are available at each seat and ordering conveniently takes place from the comfort of a guest's seat.
