Think there's nothing funny about conservation, CSAs, or climate change? Think again. For more than 15 years, the nonprofit news site Grist has used an irreverent approach to lighten up a movement sometimes known for taking itself too seriously. In this engaging, personal talk, founder Chip Giller will share valuable lessons learned during his time at the helm of Grist -- which has a monthly audience of 2 million and has inspired 70 percent of its readers to take action on green issues -- and will offer his take on how humor and storytelling can inform, inspire, and activate a new generation.

This talk is presented in conjunction with the exhibition From the Sea to the Mountains: The Trustees 125th Anniversary, co-curated by the Leventhal Map Center and The Trustees, currently showing in the Leventhal Map Center Gallery and free to the public through August 28, 2016. The talk and exhibition are both part of The Trustees’ year long celebration commemorating the organization’s 125th Anniversary as the world’s first land preservation nonprofit and Massachusetts’ largest conservation and preservation organization.

This event is Free and open to all. Space is limited on a first come first serve basis.
