The Virtuous Richard Hooker: Prophetic Virtue and the ”Sundrie Waies” of Anglican Wisdom.

A Colloquium on the unique achievements of Richard Hooker (1554-1600) as a systematic theologian, philosopher and author of The Lawes of Ecclesiastical Polity.

The Colloquium will open with a Commemorative Choral Evensong at 6.30 pm on Friday, November 4, followed by a reception.

The Colloquium itself will be held on Saturday, November 5, featuring presentations by leading scholars of Hooker’s work, including:

Professor Torrance Kirby, McGill University

The Rev'd Dr Daniel Graves, Editor of the Journal of the Canadian Church Historical Society

Dr Drew Keane, Ralston College

Andrew Fulford, McGill University

Nicholas Westberg, Boston College

The Colloquium Banquet (a separate ticket) will be held that evening and will recall that the 5th of November is “Guy Fawkes Night” — the date of his infamous “Gunpowder Plot” to blow up the British Parliament in 1605. “Remember, Remember the 5th of November!”
