The MIT Bitcoin Club is excited to announce the 5th edition of our annual event - The MIT Bitcoin Expo 2018. The Expo will be held on March 17th and 18th (Saturday and Sunday) in MIT’s largest lecture hall, 26–100. To accommodate more attendees, we will also be hosting more talks at 32–123.

The Expo will contain a wide range of industry panels and talks from top leaders in the cryptocurrency space, as well as the opportunity to meet like-minded enthusiasts, developers, entrepreneurs, and innovators. This year we are adding two new components to the Expo: the Hackathon and the Competition.

The MIT Bitcoin Hackathon is a 24-hour hackathon for University Students and Professionals and will take place the day before the Expo. The Hackathon is focused on decentralized applications and smart contracts on blockchain technology. There will be additional talks and workshops from MIT faculty and researchers, as well as local founders and engineers within the cryptocurrency space.

The MIT Bitcoin Competition is being organized to help entrepreneurs working on nascent blockchain projects take their projects to the next level.

Leaders and innovators speaking at the event include:
- Charles Hoskinson, IOHK
- Jameson Lopp, Engineer, Bitgo
- Nick Ayton, Founder, Chainstarter
- Taylor Monahan, Founder, MyCrypto
- Neha Narula, Director, MIT Digital Currency Initiative
- Will Warren, Co-Founder, 0x
- Juan Benet, Founder, Protocol Labs
