WELCOME TO THE RACE TO THE ROW
The Somerville Road Runners are proud to present the seventh annual Race to the Row in Assembly Square in our hometown of Somerville, MA. It's a series of fun events through Assembly Square and along the Mystic River. We have a Fast Mile, a 5K and a FREE Kids Fun Run! The 5K is open to runners, walkers, teams and families of all ages and abilities, ending with a fun-filled post-race party with food, drinks and beer served from the local restaurants and businesses! All proceeds will benefit East Somerville Main Streets and Somerville TrackPAC
We'll start off with the Fast Mile at 8:30am, a 1 mile loop race in Assembly Row open to all ages. Runners in the mile must be able to complete the distance in 10 minutes or less. Next is the free 1/8 mile Kid's Fun Run (age 9 and under) before the race with all kids getting a medal! And then at 9:00, we kick off the 5K. If you'd like to run both the Fast Mile and the 5K, it's only $5 more!
The first 400 registrants signed up by Aug. 1 are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt, and all 5K and Mile registrants, and all volunteers will get free food, drinks and dessert afterward! But everyone can participate in the post-race festivities. Others can pay $10 to be able to eat and drink along with them. There will be an awards ceremony following the race for top finishers and age-group winners in Mens, Womens and Wheelchair divisions as well as team awards.
Registration for the Fast Mile is $20, which includes the post-party but no t-shirt. On the day of the race, registration increases to $25. Registration for the 5K is $27 through Memorial Day (May 27), $32 through July 31, and $37 afterward, which includes the post-party and a t-shirt if you're one of the first 400. On the day of the race, registration increases to $40. If you're planning on running both races, when you sign up for the 5K, you will see an option to add the Fast Mile for $5. You can pre-register for both the 5K Run, 5K Walk and Fast Mile at RaceMenu until Saturday, August 24 at 10:00pm.
There will also be day-of sign-up at the event starting at 7:30am. Those who pre-register prior to Saturday, August 24 will be able to pick up their packet early at the Smokehouse in Assembly Row on Saturday, August 24 from noon until 4:00pm. In order to do the early pick-up, you must register online no later than 9:00am on Saturday, August 24. Those who register after that time will only be able to pick up their packets on Sunday at the event starting at 8:00am.
You do not need to pre-register for the Children's Fun Run. Simply show up before the race and fill out the registration form.
