Info: Over the course of three days, history comes alive in the city. Enjoy the kickoff celebration with free cake and live music along the waterfront. Stay for a fireworks show, say hello to roaming historical re-enactors and costumed entertainers, and embark on special walking tours. Don’t miss a special July 4th procession, the reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Old State House, and the USS Constitution turnaround sail with a 21-gun salute.

Boston Pops July 4th Fireworks Spectacular
When: Sat. 7/4
Where: Charles River Esplanade
Info: The culmination of Boston Harborfest is the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular right along the water at the Hatch Shell, and this year is an incredibly special celebration. For the first time ever, the Boston Pops will be playing during the display, with the music and fireworks choreographed together! Guest artists, Chance the Rapper, Lainey Wilson, and Trombone Shorty, will also be performing. This is a local tradition you don’t want to miss.

Watertown POPS: Patriotic Lightshow
When: Wed. 7/1
Where: Watertown
Info: Watertown is going all out for the United States turning 250 years old. Stop by Saltonstall Park for live music and a farmers’ market. Then, stay for a patriotic light show display. There will be a DJ, food trucks, and free fizzy sodas while supplies last. Don’t forget your blanket or lawn chair to secure your spot!
Quincy’s America 250 Celebration
When: Thu. 7/2
Where: Quincy
Info: Head to Quincy for a festive America 250 Celebration. There will be performances and presentations by a swing orchestra, a historian, and other local organizations and historic sites. Then, there will be a captivating live music finale.

Boston Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Info: Make your way to the Old State House and watch a reading of The Declaration of Independence by members of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts. Prior to this event, there is a parade and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Granary Burying Ground.

Gloucester Fishtown Horribles Parade & Fireworks

Where: Gloucester
Info: This beloved tradition at Cape Ann is truly one for the locals. Come dressed in your “horrible,” your silliest, most whimsical costume! Join the fun and enjoy this parade. Afterwards, there’s live music and a fireworks display along the harbor.
Blue Hill Observatory 4th of July Celebration

Info: Looking for a little getaway from the city? Purchase a ticket to Milton’s Blue Hill Observatory’s festivities. You can enjoy daytime tours, yard games, and fun activities. Then, enjoy an after-hours viewing experience of local fireworks while the Boston Pops is broadcast throughout the venue. Light refreshments and drink tickets will be included with your admission!
Fourth of July Concord Museum Community Day
