Born as an outlet for self-expression during the Covid-19 pandemic, Donatella Fermata has risen to become one of Boston’s premier live singing drag artists. Donatella embodies all of the elegance of an old-school diva with the confidence of a modern superstar.

Recipient of a 2024 Live Arts Boston grant, Donatella continues to push the boundaries of what is “right” in classical music. Through bold programming in accessible spaces, her creative endeavors seek to deconstruct the barriers to classical music that many communities face. In 2024, Donatella made her professional operatic debut as the Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra.
