I’m Boa, an organizer, rider, and diasporic thinker committed to reclaiming public space and collective joy for those of us too often left out of the picture. I started Boston’s Diaspora Bikes Back: Kinfolk In Motion not just because I love biking, but because I was tired of being told what is or isn’t “for us.” Biking is movement, and movement is power...especially when it’s free, communal, and done without apology.
This isn’t about performance. It’s about possibility. I believe deeply in creating spaces where our people can show up fully, ride at their own pace, and be reminded that we don’t need permission to build something good. You don’t need to be “fit,” you don’t need to have a new bike, and you don’t need to prove anything to anyone. If you show up with intention, that’s enough.
We ride every day the weather allows. Come ride with us, lead with us, learn with us, or build your own version elsewhere. That’s the point.
