Carla Smith is the inspiring author of Leveling Above The Clicks and the visionary founder of REESIE’S Marvelous Hats, the first Black and woman-owned hat store in Massachusetts. Featured on GBH TV and YouTube, her business has become a symbol of empowerment, resilience, and community pride.

Carla transformed her journey from pop-up shops to a full storefront into a blueprint for purpose-driven entrepreneurship. A certified life coach, mentor, and public speaker, she uses her platform to uplift others through fashion, storytelling, and service. Each hat in her collection carries an inspirational name, designed to help people feel confident, radiant, and seen.

She also made history by co-hosting Massachusetts’ first Alopecia Awareness fashion event, creating space for beauty, healing, and advocacy. Through her book, brand, and events, Carla continues to inspire others to rise above their challenges and Be That In A Hat.
