National Dog Day, which takes place annually on August 26th, celebrates dogs to help raise awareness for the number of dogs that need to be rescued and acknowledges both family dogs and dogs that work selflessly to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. ZINC Apartments, a new luxury living space in Cambridge, invites its residents, area dog owners and their dogs to join in a celebration of National Dog Day by using one of ZINC’s many luxury amenities - the Pet Spa - to groom the dogs on Thursday, August 25th from 6:00-8:00 pm free of charge. In addition to beverages and hors d’oeuvres for the dog owners, ZINC will provide J.P. Licks’ doggie sundaes for the pups.


ZINC has partnered with nearby Elliot’s House to provide extra perks and pampering for the dogs and their faithful owners. Elliot’s House -- a fully insured dog walker, pet sitting, daycare, and boarding company that services the Boston, Cambridge and Somerville area -- will give away gift certificates to three lucky event attendees to be used for their services such as pet sitting and dog walking. Also courtesy of Elliot’s House, there will be fun photo props for the dogs like feather boas, hats, and comic hero costumes as well as pet adoption information. Elliot House General Manager Sam Wilhelm, who is an artist, will offer complimentary sketches of the dogs.


NOTE: ZINC Apartments is proud to welcome pets, but does employ the following dog breed restrictions: Pitbull, Rottweiler, German Shepard, Doberman, ChowChow, or any hybrid or mix of these breeds.
