Come explore with us at Gore Place! Using our grounds as a backdrop, youth will practice their science and naturalism skills. Led by expert educators, we will make close observations, record findings in your nature journal, and share questions about the natural world.
This program is a five-week series meeting on Saturdays from September 25 to October 23. You will learn about some of the many trees at Gore Place, look closely for insects and other smaller creatures, watch the behavior of birds, or take a nature walk near the meadow or by the stream. Participation in all five sessions is not required but encouraged. Please dress for the weather and wear clothing in which you will feel comfortable exploring the outdoors. This program is rain or shine but may be canceled or postponed due to extreme weather. If one session is canceled, we will add a session on October 30th. In the unlikely event that two sessions are canceled, we will end with the session on October 30th.
This program is for youth ages 7-10 with an adult. No older siblings, please. $90 per child for all five sessions.
This program takes place outside or under our tent with access to an indoor accessible restroom. Educators will meet the group at our seasonal tent near the parking lot and Carriage House. Participants are required to wear masks at outdoor museum programs if they have not been vaccinated, according to state and local regulations. Gore Place staff will wear masks at outdoor museum programs.
If you or your child require an accommodation to more fully participate in this program, please contact us before registering.
