A textile and fashion arts exhibit featuring designs and accessories from the late 20th century assembled by celebrated fashion icon, brilliant business entrepreneur, and marketing genius, Yolanda Cellucci. On display will be an array of couture ensembles and high fashion accessories on loan from Yolanda’s private collection, the Lasell College Fashion Collection, and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. This fine selection of garments features celebrated designers such as: Givenchy, Bob Mackie, Oscar de la Renta, Stephen Yearick, and more.
The exhibit will be held at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation, which is housed in the historic Francis Cabot Lowell Mill, home of the Boston Manufacturing Company and America’s first integrated textile mill. The Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation boasts a collection of hands on exhibits featuring American innovation and invention from 1812 to modern day, including The Orient Bicycle, the Boston Manufacturing Company, Metz Automobile, and the Waltham Watch Factory. The mission of the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation is to preserve our industrial heritage and inspire future innovation in America.
September 5th: VIP Opening Reception and Couture Auction. 6pm at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation. Tickets are $25. This VIP reception will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and an award ceremony with special guest Dawn Carroll, co-founder of the Over My Shoulder Foundation. The foundation will present the very first “Designing the Next Generation” award to Yolanda. This award is presented to women who cross generations and cultures to mentor others. Grammy-winning artist, Patti Austin, will co-present the award via a specially recorded message.
