Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the dynamic, fast-paced yoga style that O2 Yoga offers. In Yin Yoga, floor postures, primarily focused on the hips and spine, are held passively for several minutes to work the deep layers of connective tissue in the body, enhancing joint health and in some cases range of motion. This workshop will provide an introduction to Yin Yoga through a guided practice and explanation of the key tenets of the practice.
We recommend bringing extra layers of clothing as this practice primarily consists of floor postures and is not designed to build heat.

Eliza is trained to teach both Astanga-based vinyasa as well as Yin yoga: first, completing a 200-hour training at O2 Yoga with Mimi Louriero and Elliott McEldowney, then completing a 50-hour training with Bernie Clark, respectively. She is inspired by the balance that these two types of yoga bring to mind and body, and the focus on anatomy and alignment that they both share.
