Join us this Saturday for a special canvassing day with City Councilor Julia Mejia, #YesOn3 and #YesOn1Bos! We've joined forces to get out the word about a Better Boston, a more just Boston, and we want you to join us!
Electing the Boston School Committee is a simple path forward to more equity in the Boston Schools and greater representation of community power in the city of Boston. When Question 3 passes, a home rule petition filed by City Councilor Ricardo Arroyo and supported by Councilor Julia Mejia would create a process to determine the eventual structure of the elected school committee. Together, the ballot question and home rule petition could restore to Bostonians the democratic right to elect their school board; a right that residents in every other school district in the state possess.
Yes on 1 for a Better Budget movement strives to bring about real budget reform, and Yes on 3 to get an elected school committee in Boston! We will be hosting weekly canvasses to reach as many Boston voters as possible before the general election on November 2, 2021. Yes on 1 would change how the city budget is created by allowing the city council to change budget items by a majority vote, and create an office of participatory budgeting to allow people to vote on certain budget items.
