Write Here, Right Now (Revisited)

Last year at Movimiento Gallery (see attached pic) I hosted a participatory art happening called "Write Here, Right Now" as a personal response to the fatal shootings of unarmed African Americans. I invited the public to come in and freely express their thoughts and feelings on whatever mattered to them...to write, or draw, or paint on my gallery walls. The event brought many people with different viewpoints together, and we ended up with quite an amazing and beautiful piece of artwork as the byproduct.

On the first friday in March (coinciding with SoWa First Friday Open Studios) I will be hosting a similar interactive art event in my 4th floor studio (Movimiento is now closed). It's my feeling that there could not be a more appropriate and urgent timing for this, so bring your voices to 450 Harrison Ave, Suite 405A, and adorn (or desecrate!) my WALL!! All voices, all thoughts and persuasions are equally valid, and welcome: the goal is to bring us all together, and start a dialogue. Come to write, paint and draw, leave your mark in whatever way you are moved to...or just gather, talk about the issues, and sip wine! Warning...spontaneous dancing may also break out later in the evening...

Additionally, SOWA First Friday open studios will offer over one hundred art studios to visit, and dozens of Gallery openings this same evening, so there will be much to see!
