Worlds of Ursula K. Le Guin will screen on Thursday, February 14 at the Boston SciFi Film Festival, in the Somerville Theater. Q&A to follow with Director Arwen Curry.
Worlds of Ursula K. Le Guin is a 68-minute artistic feature documentary about Ursula K. Le Guin, the groundbreaking feminist writer of the Left Hand of Darkness and the Earthsea books, who passed away in January 2018.
Ursula K. Le Guin: world builder, feminist and fringe fantasy author. Le Guin’s work challenged the male-dominated industry of literature, and demanded consideration of complex topics such as gender and identity, decades before these issues became contemporary talking points. Following Le Guin’s death this past January, Arwen Curry’s intimate portrait—featuring interviews with authors and Le Guin admirers Neil Gaiman and David Mitchell—is a moving tribute to a prescient female warrior and an homage to our shared love of storytelling.
