Public Art curator Now + There is collaborating with Goethe Institut on a panel series considering the question, What Makes a Monument? These conversations will bring together voices from Boston, Germany, and elsewhere to reenvision the process through which monuments are built and the public space(s) they occupy.
The first panel will be held virtually on Tuesday, March 22, 12-1:30 pm featuring panelists and artists L’Merchie Frazier and Ulf Aminde, moderated by Devin Morris of the Teacher’s Lounge. We’ll look at the current state of monuments and consider how we can all be more critical and intentional as we envision who or what is recognized in public space.
