Sunday is looking beautiful so I figure we should get into the mountains! I have not done this one personally, but it is rated as moderate on some sites, difficult on others. We will be taking our time and enjoying the view, so even though some of the terrain is difficult, we will not be rushing over it. Let's keep no more than to four to a vehicle. Ideally it would be two cars of three people.


Welch and Dickey is a popular 4 mile loop trail in Thornton New Hampshire (White Mountains) with an elevation gain of 1700 feet (starts at 1000 and reaches 2700 feet) and is considered to be one of the best bang for your buck hikes around with excellent views of the surrounding areas.


The hike should take ~ 4 hours including breaks and we will stay together as a group. It is moderate/difficult due to multiple steep sections of rock slabs and scrambles so you must be in good shape to go on this hike. Hiking footwear with good traction is required for this trip.


This hike is located ~ 2 hours north of Boston and at elevation so be sure to bring multiple layers of clothing and a day pack to store layers and other items as necessary.
