Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement are hosting an annual reception that celebrates Boston immigrants and their contributions to the City.
"We Are Boston 2020: From Resilience to Equity" takes place on November 19, 2020 from 5 - 6 p.m. The fun-filled evening will include musical performances and an inspiring program. Corporate sponsorships and ticket sales fund mini-grants for immigrant-serving nonprofits. Due to COVID-19, this year's reception will be virtual.
During this year’s reception, Mayor Walsh will recognize the successes of the past year. The Mayor will also name this year’s honorees who are champions of diversity and inclusiveness. The evening will culminate with our new Cabinet Chief of Equity, Dr. Karilyn Crockett. Dr. Crockett will speak on the convergence and divergence of African American and immigrant struggles. She will also discuss how the corporate and philanthropic sectors can support the fight for equity for all.
