Okay, modern folks would just consider this area 'Ashmont' but we are using the 19th century name...live with it! Dorchester is even older than Boston. Advances in transportation enabled the development of ‘Carruth’s Hill’ into a beautiful garden suburb and the 1% flocked to the area. They built beautiful Victorian houses using well-known architects. Come explore this enclave with Boston By Foot to experience its loveliness and hear about the extraordinary people who have called it home.


The tour lasts 90 minutes and will proceed rain or shine. Buy tickets online beforehand or purchase (with cash) on the day of the tour from your guides.
