The Wake Up the Earth Festival is a community based festival with 6 stages, music, dancing, food vendors, kids activities, artisanal vendors and more..
it is currently celebrating it's 45th anniversary! Wake Up the Earth was founded by artists and activists that won a protest against a 5 lane extension of highway 95 across our community and became SouthWest Corridor Park (summary). It's grown into parades across JP and Roxbury, and a wonderful day long street fair.
This takes place directly outside the Stony Brook T station on the orange line and public transportation or biking is recommended.
