A local dancer whose work received a Governor’s citation. A son who runs a Somerville restaurant started by his mother. A pastor who co-leads a local congregation that purchased its church in 2008. Come and hear members of the local Haitian community talk about their work in Somerville’s neighborhoods and listen to a historian from Somerville discuss connections between Haitian and U.S. history. Special thanks to Erline Tanice and Adda Maria Santos for their help in producing this event! Also, be sure to join us November 18th (6:30 pm) for the next event in this series, featuring voices from the local Brazilian community.
Panelists:
Judelande Antoine -- Artist and Founder, Somerville Haitians United
Ruben Pierre -- Sunrise Cuisine restaurant
Pastor Guy Thomas -- Missionary Church of the Haitian Community
Also featuring:
Dan Breen -- Historian, Brandeis University and Somerville resident
