You are cordially invited to the opening of Visages de Punk by Cambridge artist JJ Gonson, a new exhibit at the The Paul Dietrich Gallery, located on the fifth floor of CambridgeSeven. Join Ms. Gonson for the artist reception and talk on Thursday, July 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Ms. Gonson photographed hardcore and punk bands both in Boston and Oregon throughout the 1980's and 90's for promotional features and cover art. The result of her experiences is a collection of intimate portraits of musicians, friends and fans, both on stage and off. Her exhibition includes rarely viewed pictures including the likes of Kurt Cobain, Elliott Smith, Jane’s Addiction, Black Flag and hundreds of other punk and independent bands.
Ms. Gonson’s work has been published in books including “Torment Saint: a Biography of Elliot Smith”, “Cobain Unseen,” “Cobain on Cobain,” as well as fanzines such as xXx and Suburban Voice, and magazines including Rolling Stone, Mojo Q and Spin.
The exhibition is proudly presented by The Paul Dietrich Gallery, located on the fifth floor of CambridgeSeven. The collection will be on display from July 23 to October 19.
