Join us for a fascinating talk on local lighthouses by expert, Jeremy D’Entremont.
Jeremy D’Entremont has been photographing and writing about lighthouses for more than 35 years. He is the author of more than 20 books and hundreds of articles on lighthouses and maritime history, and he has appeared on the History Channel, the Travel Channel, Syfy, Public Television, and National Public Radio. He is the historian for the U.S. Lighthouse Society and hosts the Society's weekly podcast, "Light Hearted." He is also the president and historian for the American Lighthouse Foundation and the founder of Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses.
Jeremy's presentation will focus on the rich history of the lighthouses in Boston Harbor, beginning with Boston Light, the first lighthouse on the continent. The emphasis is on the human interest stories of lighthouse keepers and their families. The presentation will be illustrated by historic images and Jeremy's own recent photos, as well as audio and video clips.
