This calligraphy class will help students learn to create ‘drawn and painted’ letters (as opposed to ‘off the pen’ letters) that are used to decorate illuminated manuscripts. It is designed to be the third of a four-part series of one-day workshops:  Sketching Workshop, Visit to the Boston Public Library Rare Books Room, Versal and Lombardic Caps, and Manuscript Gilding. This course can be taken alone or combined with the others.
