Ecstatic Dance Massachusetts: Valentine’s Community Dance

After several months of rest, reflection, and re-centering, Ecstatic Dance Massachusetts is returning to the dance floor — and we’re grateful to begin again with intention, care, and community.

This gathering is rooted in what matters most to us: safety, comfort, and a multi-genre journey through Sound.

We’re creating a space where you can arrive as you are, move at your own pace, honor your boundaries, and feel supported by the collective.

While this dance falls on Valentine’s weekend, the focus isn’t romantic love — it’s self-love, community care, and embodied connection.

Whether you come to move gently, sweat freely, or simply be held by sound, you’re welcome here.

✨ Event Flow (times are approximate)

3:00 PM – Doors Open

Arrive, settle in, and get comfortable.

3:10 PM – Welcoming Circle

A brief orientation to the space, agreements, and intentions for the afternoon.

3:15 PM – Heartfelt Arrival: Intention & Grounding Ritual

A gentle guided warmup inviting self-reflection and shared intention, culminating in a collective offering to the space.

3:25 PM – Ecstatic Dance with DJ Bl0ckh34d

A carefully curated journey designed to support freedom of movement, emotional expression, and deep embodied presence.

4:40 PM – Sound Healing with Lawanda

An immersive sound bath to help integrate the dance, soothe the nervous system, and land softly together.

5:00 PM – Closing Circle

A moment to ground, reflect, and reconnect before heading back into the world.

5:15-5:55 PM – Hang Out Time!

We'll start packing up to get all of our equipment out by 6PM so feel free to hang out and chat with everyone! We've reserved the space for additional time to accommodate this and not feel rushed out at the end of the dance!

6:00PM – Building Closes

💛 What to Expect

• Consent-based, substance-free dance floor
• No talking during the dance
• Move how you feel — barefoot, eyes closed, or resting when needed
• A welcoming environment for both first-timers and seasoned dancers

This is a space to feel safe in your body, supported by community, and guided by music that moves with intention.

We’re so glad to be dancing together again.

🌿 Volunteers Welcome

We’re offering a small number of volunteer positions for those who’d like to support the space and be part of the behind-the-scenes flow.

Available roles include:

• Check-In Support (arrival window, welcoming guests)
• Setup Support (before doors open)
• Takedown Support (after closing circle)

Volunteers receive a free ticket in exchange for their help.

If you’re someone who enjoys contributing to community, helping create a safe and comfortable environment, and being part of the container that holds the dance, we’d love to have you.
