Historic New England hosts a conversation with Dr. David Pilgrim, founder of the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia, the nation's largest publicly accessible collection of racist objects.
Pilgrim is one of the country's leading experts on issues relating to multiculturalism, diversity, and race relations. The Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia is a 14,000-piece collection of artifacts located at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. The museum uses objects of intolerance to teach tolerance and promote social justice. Says Pilgrim, “We are not afraid to talk about race and racism; we are afraid not to!”
