We are honored and grateful to celebrate this milestone with you! About Underdog: Born in Panama, Underdog came to DC at age seven with his mother and set down strong subcultural roots. He sees DJing as a mix of all genre’s and new aesthetics without conformity. His sets traverse the globe and delve in futurism on many levels. Bringing a “New Aesthetic”. His recent acclaim stems from his UNSEEN mixtape series which have expanded his listening audience and placed him outside of any playlist or genre-defined role. He’s shared the stage with artists like Femi Kuti, Bad Brains, Sango, Zap Mama, Common, Black Coffee, Kelela, A Tribe Called Red, Questlove, and Thundercat. From AFROPUNK to almost every major festival in NYC, DJ Underdog is currently holding down residencies with okayafricaDC, electrafriqueNYC. He also an acclaimed visual artist dealing in afro-surrealism and afrofuturism, and to some, helping define the genres. He is also the lead graphic designer for OkayAfrica.

The art in the top right corner of our cover photo and the middle right square on our general flyer design is a crop of a piece by Ifé Franklin/IféArt. It is part of a series titled 'Only the enlightened can read this map. See the full piece in the discussion board of this invite and reach out to Ife for available pieces and pricing. It is important that we support the artists in our community.
