On October 11, Tuscan Kitchen in Salem will open its doors to showcase “Whiskey of the World.” A four-course dinner designed by chef Mario Amaral, guests will tantalize their palates with whiskey-infused culinary creations paired with the nectar from some of the world’s most coveted, aged casks.


After whetting the whistle at the evening’s cocktail greeting, groups of 10-12 who share a common love for single malts, scotches and blends will be treated to the ultimate international epicurean experience:


1ST COURSE
Foie Gras Cube
dashi, blistered shishito, yuzu & shimeji
Suntory, a Japanese whisky from the distillery established in 1923


2ND COURSE
Char Grilled Quail
funghi risotto, pickled turnip, Putnam jus & parmesan essence
Putnam New England Whiskey, from Boston Harbor Distillery


3RD COURSE
Bowmore Aged Venison Strip
smoked sweet potato, kale sprouts & vermouth
Bowmore 12 Year Scotch, an award-winning single malt from the UK


4TH COURSE
Sticky Bread Pudding
Canadian Club toffee & crispy brittle
Canadian Club 12 Year Small Blend, aged in seasoned char-treated oak bourbon barrels
